I am a retired, single, straight male who loves to laugh. Laughter is the greatest cure for whatever ails the body, mind, or soul! Also, a good listener, I enjoy hearing others' thoughts, ideas, and opinions; even if, especially if, they differ from mine. ("I have never learned from a man who agreed with me." - Robert Heinlein) I believe that by really taking the time to truly talk and listen to the other person is the best way for you to get to know and understand him as an individual. ("I don't like that man; I must get to know him better." - Abraham Lincoln) It is, also, one of the best ways that I know of to learn new ideas and concepts, to expand your mind, and broaden your horizons. I'm constantly searching for new ideas and concepts to learn and new ways to expand my mind and broaden my horizons. ("A man who views the world the same at 50 as he did at 20 has wasted 30 years of his life!" - Muhammad Ali) If I am not continually learning and evolving, I might as well be dead! But as Mark Twain once commented "The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated!" ("Don't compromise yourself,; you are all you've got!" - Janis Joplin)
I'm extremely family oriented; as family is the most important area of my life! I'm very close to my oldest son and his family; we see and talk to one another regularly. Unfortunately my youngest son and I are currently estranged, but hopefully we will be able to reconcile. ("Even though your kids will constantly do the exact opposite of what you're telling them to do; you have to keep loving them just the same." - Bill Cosby) I'm, also, close to my older sister, younger brother, and their families. Unfortunately distance prevents us from seeing each other as often as we would like. We do though talk and e-mail one another regularly.
